Tiki Glass – Tiki Hunter 2019 – Hibiscus Monkey – LE

Based in South Florida, Tiki Hunter, LLC has been collecting and selling Hawaiiana since 1984. In the 1940’s memories of trips to the islands were brought home in souvenir tumblers. When these tumblers were refilled stateside, they recreated visions of cool drinks sipped at sunset on the beach. The Tiki Hunter captures the spirit of these original island treasures in tumblers suitable for intoxicating beverages.

Banana Manhattan – Manhattan is a classic cocktail that is synonymous with sophistication. This tiki version of the drink takes a detour through the jungle before reaching the big city, It is made with an aged rum base and has just a touch of banana, which highlights the funky, fruity flavors in the rum without making the cocktail too sweet. It’s recommended to use an aged Jamaican rum for this recipe, because it will naturally have those tropical flavors that the banana is there to emphasize.

Appleton Estate 12 Year Rare Blend Rum – 1 ½ ounces
Carpano Punt e Mes Vermouth – ½ ounce
Banana Liqueur – ½ ounce
Angostura Bitters – 2 dashes

Combine all ingredients into a shaker and fill with ice cubes. Shake vigorously for 20 to 30 seconds. Double strain the contents of the shaker into the Hibiscus Monkey Glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry speared on a cocktail pick.
