Tiki Mug – Tiki Farm 2008 – Monkey Beachcomber – Doug Horne

Tiki Farm is the world’s largest designer and manufacturer of custom ceramic drink and barware products. The company was founded in 2000 by Holden Westland. They have created thousands of designs and have manufactured countless millions of products to-date. Their products are collected worldwide and regarded as a premium ceramic stoneware grade drinkware. Their creative capabilities include mugs, bowls, decanters, pitchers, shots, plates and more.

Doug Horne is an artist based in Arizona. He’s been an artist his whole life, having started out doing commercial graphic art, then gravitating more and more toward Tiki. He also draws inspiration from Classic Universal Horror and B-Movie Monsters and mid century signage and architecture.

Beachcomber’s Gold – This version comes from the Hollywood Beachcomber’s waiter Dick Santiago’s 1937 recipe notebook. It’s exactly the same as the recipe in the Palm Springs Beachcomber’s bartender Hand Riddle’s 1950s notebook.

Dark Jamaican Rum – ¼ ounce
Gold Jamaican Rum – ¼ ounce
Gold Puerto Rican Rum – 1 ounce
Pernod Liqueur – 6 drops
Fresh Lime Juice – ½ ounce
Sugar Syrup – ½ ounce
Almond Extract – 4 drops

Combine all ingredients into a blender with 2 ounces of crushed ice. Blend at high speed for 5 seconds. Strain the contents into the Monkey Beachcomber Mug lined with an ice shell.
