Tiki Mug – Trader Dick’s – Surfer Girl – Dick Graves

Located in Sparks, Nevada, Trader Dick’s opened in 1958 by Dick Graves, owner of the Sparks Nugget casino. It has been said that Graves spared no expense. Rumored to have spent $100,000 to create a South Seas ambience, he hired Eli Hedley to create the authentic atmosphere.

Kahuna Sour – This is exactly the type of drink that everyone should be enjoying when they are poolside at a beach resort – or if they simply wish that they were. It’s a bright fruity, and not too sweet, thanks to a blend of passion fruit and lime that is both refreshing and addictive.

Light Rum – 2 ounces
Falernum Liqueur – ½ ounce
Fresh Lime Juice – 1 ounce
Passion Fruit Puree – 1 ounce
Simple Syrup – ½ ounce

Combine all ingredients, except the club soda, in a shaker and fill with ice cubes. Shake vigorously for 20 to 30 seconds. Strain the contents of the shaker into the Surfer Girl Mug filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and pineapple wedge speared on a cocktail pick.
