Tiki Glass – Den of Sin 2018 – Doug Horne – LE

Doug Horne is an artist based in Arizona. He’s been an artist his whole life, having started out doing commercial graphic art, then gravitating more and more toward Tiki. He also draws inspiration from Classic Universal Horror and B-Movie Monsters and mid century signage and architecture.

Island Hookup – Spiced rum is not always a staple ingredient in a tiki bar because so many drinks call for the use of syrups and spice infusions. But if you happen to have a bottle, there are still some great ways to use it. The Island Hookup relies on the extra sweetness of the spiced rum to help temper the bright citrus notes of lime and passion fruit.

Spiced Rum – 1 ½ ounces
Falernum Liqueur – ½ ounce
Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur – ¼ teaspoon
Fresh Lime Juice – ¾ ounce
Passion Fruit Puree – ¾ ounce

Combine all ingredients in a shaker and fill with ice cubes. Shake vigorously for 20 to 30 seconds. Double strain the contents of the shaker into the Den of Sin Glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry speared on a cocktail pick, plus a pineapple frond.
