Tiki Glass – Tiki Kon 2016 – USO Tribute – LE

Portland, Oregon has a rich history of Tiki culture, which is reflected in events like Tiki Kon. The event is considered one of the oldest Polynesian Pop Revival gatherings and the longest-running home bar tours of its kind. Founded by Craig “Colonel Tiki” Hermann: Craig is described as a creative producer who has been involved in the Polynesian Pop (Tiki) revival for over 20 years. He was a founding member of Northwest Tiki, LLC, which supported and spread Polynesian Pop enthusiasm in the Pacific Northwest.

The Dead Reckoning – Created for the Tiki Kon in 2007. The Dead Reckoning has become one of the most popular drinks at the event.

Blended Aged Rum – 2 ounces
SC Vanilla Brandy – 1/2 ounce
Tawny Port – 1/2 ounce
Fresh Lemon Juice – 1 ounce
Pineapple Juice – 1 ounce
Grade A Maple Syrup – 1/2 ounce
Angostura Bitters – 1 dash
Seltzer – 1 ounce

Add all ingredients to a drink mixer tin except the seltzer. Add 12 ounces of crushed ice and 4 to 6 “agitator” cubes to the drink mixer tin and flash blend. Pour the seltzer into the Tiki Kon Zombie Glass and strain the contents over the seltzer. Add cracked ice. Garnish with pineapple fronds, mint sprig and a lemon spiral.
