Tiki Glass – Tonga Hut 2018 – Clee Sobieski – LE #1

Born on Oahu and raised in Southern California, Sobieski’s art career started on a whim one day in San Francisco in 1996 after walking into an art store. He creates colorful and fun-filled art with heavy influences of mid century and Hawaiiana, two of his greatest passions.

Zombie – Notorious would be an understatement. Donn’s most famous and lethal concoction, it too has been abused beyond recognition in the past. Urban legends about its madness-inducing properties and menu warnings about a two-per-person limit “for your own safety” cemented this drink in history.

Black Blended Overproof  Rum – 1 ounce
Black Blended Aged Rum – 1 1/2 ounces
Column Still Aged  Rum – 1 1/2 ounces
John D. Taylor’s Velvet Falernum Liqueur – 1/2  ounce
Fresh Grapefruit Juice – 1/4 ounce
Fresh Lime Juice – 3/4 ounce
SC Cinnamon Syrup – ¼ ounce
SC Grenadine Syrup – 1 teaspoon
Angostura Bitters – 2 dashes

Combine all ingredients into a drink mixer tin with 12 ounces of crushed ice and 4 to 6 “agitator” cubes. Flash blend and open pour with gated finish into the Tonga Hut Zombie Glass. Garnish with a mint sprig and healthy dose of trepidation. Sip with eyes half-closed. Repeat until desired effects have been attained.
