Tiki Mug – Frankoma War God – Wendy Cevola – LE

Wendy Cevola is an artist who works in both clay and ceramics. Her work has been extensively documented on Tiki Central and she is known for custom pieces and for her Sacramento Tiki Crawl.

Missionary’s Downfall – This drink was created by Don the Beachcomber, and the name really captures the irreverent spirit that made tiki culture so popular in the first place. This refreshing cocktail features a blend of white rum, pineapple, honey, and mint. It’s highly recommended to use a white Demerara rum, which has a subtle fruitness. Also, the mint is shaken in with the rest of the cocktail ingredients and not strained out before serving, which gives the golden drink some intriguing flecks of color and ensures that it will remain bright and refreshing from start to finish.

White Demerara Rum – 1 ½ ounces
Fresh Lime Juice – 1 ounce
Pineapple Juice – 2 ounces 
Honey Syrup – ½ ounce
Fresh Mint – 5 leaves

Combine all the ingredients, including the mint leaves, in a shaker and fill with crushed ice. Shake vigorously for 20 to 30 seconds. Pour contents of the shaker into the War God Mug. Garnish with mint leaves.
