Tiki Mug – Orchids of Hawaii – Leilani R-91

Orchids of Hawaii was a restaurant supply company known for producing Tiki mugs and other ceramics, primarily for the restaurant and bar industry. They operated from the Bronx, New York, and sourced their ceramics from Japan and later Taiwan. The company was active for a period between 1962 and 1994, with the Japanese production likely preceding the Taiwanese. Orchids of Hawaii, along with Otagiri Mercantile Company (OMC), were major mass producers of these collectible items.

Leilani – This drink was first served at the Polynesian Village Resort at Walt Disney World in 1971.

Coconut Rum – 2 ½ ounces
Fresh Guava Nectar – 3 ounces
Fresh Lime Juice – ¾ ounce
Unsweetened Pineapple Juice – 1 ½ ounces
Sugar Syrup – ¾ ounce

Combine all ingredients in a shaker and fill with crushed ice. Shake vigorously for 20 to 30 seconds. Pour contents of the shaker without straining into the Leilani Mug. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and orange slice speared on a cocktail pick.
